Sing Praises!  Give Thanks!

The Music Ministry search committee has now completed its work. The session has given its blessing to our new Ministry of Music staff.

We were unanimous in choosing Dr. Joni Prado as our Chancel Choir Director. She has been serving us with joy and energy since the beginning of Advent.

Now we are pleased to announce that Dr. Dennis Siebenaler will be our Organist beginning on March 1. Dennis is on the music faculty at Cal State Fullerton and has served many years as church organist here in Orange County and elsewhere.

We are grateful to the search committee: Sue Currie, Jenny McGlinchey, Chuck Patterson, Ruth Schweitzer and Rebecca Prichard. We are also grateful to Bob Volbrecht who has so gracefully blessed us during this transition.

We are also thankful for our section leaders: Heather Reithmeier, soprano; Dale Schweitzer, tenor; Ryan Reithmeier, Baritone; and Jane Shim, alto. Jane will be leaving us to serve in her home church, so we look forward to welcoming a new alto in the near future as we say goodbye and thank you to Jane. We are also grateful for continuing support from the Murdy Foundation and the Scrip Fund.

Our New Chancel Choir Director

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Joni Prado to her new role as Chancel Choir Director.  Our Music Ministry Search Committee was unanimous and enthusiastic in choosing Joni for this position.  In her work as music professor at Vanguard University, Dr. Prado conducts the women's chorus, Luminaria.  We had several outstanding musicians apply for this position.  We believe that Joni is just the right person for the job.  We welcome her gladly to this position.
