Music Ministry
A rich music ministry has long been a central focus of our life together at TPC. Our Chancel Choir, led by Minister of Music and Organist, David Koehring, is a deeply committed group of singers who express their faith through music and as members of Christ's body. Our mission style sanctuary is graced by a 53-rank Wicks pipe organ. Our music ministry includes choirs for all ages as well as bell choirs for children.
Our worship services are fresh and carefully crafted so that anthems, hymns, scripture passages and preaching all work together to enhance one another. Each Sunday the music in our service is based on the scripture designated in the Common Lectionary.
The Chancel Choir leads us in worship every Sunday morning. Several special music programs are presented each year. These have included: MASS IN B-FLAT by Haydn, Bach's Cantata, BWV 106 "Gottes Zeit Ist die Allerbeste Zeit" (God's Time is the Best Time of All), Mozart's REQUIEM, the REQUIEM by Gabriel Fauré and MISSA BREVIS by Zoltán Kodály. At Easter, there is special music with organ and instrumentalists.

The Chancel Choir is having another great year as we make music together and help to lead the TPC congregation in worship. In addition to the regular music each Sunday morning, we perform special music for All Saints' Sunday, Christmas Eve, and Easter. Everyone who loves to sing is invited to join. No experience is necessary. Yes ... it IS hard work ... learning all those notes, giving up every Thursday evening and Sunday morning, sometimes leaving your family for a special rehearsal (which doesn't happen very often), or getting up from the dinner table on Christmas Eve to get to a 8:00 p.m. warm-up rehearsal before the 9:00 p.m. service. Many of our singers have done that for over 30 years ... some with very young children! So ... if THEY can do it, YOU can do it too!
The audition is simple. If you can find the Choir Room ... you've made it! If you can't devote the time... well... there are many other activities at TPC to choose from ... you'll find something.
If you have any questions, please call David Koehring at the church…... (714) 544-7070, ext.109.
Visit the Chancel Choir SCRIP Table
It’s back-to-school time! With that activity in mind, think of using scrip for: clothes shopping, book/school supplies or outfitting a dorm room. Staples has a special offer (available only at the Scrip Table while supplies last) just in time for back-to-school or organizing your home office: spend $25 for a Staples gift card and get a card loaded with $26.35 or spend $100 for a Staples gift card and get a card loaded with $105.
It’s also time to re-register your Vons Club Card or sign up with eScrip so that your contributions to the music program don’t lapse. Vons requires that participants renew annually so that our group continues to collect contributions. Here’s how:
If you registered with Vons last year, you must re-register now, in order for the contributions to continue. Once you have registered, just remember to swipe your card every time you shop for TPC to get a contribution.
Remember, every time you buy Scrip, you benefit in several ways:
Each Sunday you can stop by the Scrip Table and support the TPC Music Program. If you want to check what scrip is available, we have a list there. You can also look at the attached Scrip List. Our scrip supplier also carries a huge assortment of restaurant and retail gift certificates for other regions in the country, in addition to the national chains. Come and check out the list of possibilities, or you can log on to www.glscrip.com. Let Janette Ditkowsky know if there are other gift cards we can stock for you.
