ReCharge IV

"Under construction": That could well be the description of the Christian Church, or the Presbyterian Church, or most any other church entity in today's environment.  TPC is seeking how to best be the Church of Jesus Christ in Tustin at this time — in response to all of the forces that are tugging at the church from all sides.  This year's men's retreat will look at the shape of the Church (capital "C") in this early part of the 21st century, and, more importantly, at the place of TPC at this time and place.  The session grappled with this forward-looking approach in a retreat in mid-July, and our retreat will explore how the men of the church can play a vital role in the kinds of creative directions for our congregation that may have grown out of our session's vision for the future.

Dave Tomlinson, former Executive Presbyter for Los Ranchos Presbytery and, more recently, Vice President at the Southern California campus of the San Francisco Theological Seminary will lead us in this exploration.  This year the Men’s ReCharge will be at the Presbyterian Conference Center at Big Bear Lake. Directions will be provided.  ReCharge IV will start on Friday, September 9 (including dinner at 5:00 p.m.), and go through Saturday to Sunday morning, September 11 (breakfast and communion service).  It will cost $145 for the weekend, including five meals or $185 if you want to stay in the cottagesFull and partial scholarships are available. All men eighteen or older are welcome.  Sign-ups are in the courtyard after worship, starting Sunday, July 17.  If you have any questions, call the church office at (714)544-7070.

Save the dates we hope that you’ll join us!
